Nearly 100 elegant dancers and musicians fill the ranks of this world-class folk troupe of ballet-trained performers from Georgia, adjacent to Russia. The company’s works are based on traditional dances that date back to the fourth century. No wonder the legendary George Balanchine, the world’s foremost contemporary ballet choreographer, claimed Georgia as his ancestral home.
